Downtown Saint Louis Walking Tours

Thinking of visiting St. Louis this spring or summer?  Learn even more about our city with the fun and informative Downtown Architectural Walking Tours sponsored by the Landmarks Association of St. Louis. The Downtown East & West tours are held each Saturday and the Washington Avenue tour is held the first and third Saturday of each month through October 28, 10 AM to Noon, rain or shine.

Three tour routes highlight Downtown St. Louis’ amazing architecture, history and even some surprising secrets about the people and places that helped shape the city. Each tour costs $10 per adult and is free for children 12 years of age and younger. Payment is cash only.  Reservations are not required.

Downtown East Tour: Meeting site: the 4th Street entrance to the Old Courthouse, between Market and Chestnut Streets. Highlights of the East Tour include the Old Courthouse, Old Cathedral, Gateway Arch, Eads Bridge, Old Post Office, Wainwright Building and a Philip Johnson-designed office building.

Downtown West Tour: Meeting site: the main Market Street entrance to St. Louis Union Station Hotel, 1820 Market Street. The tour itinerary includes Union Station, Peabody Opera House, City Hall, Central Library, Campbell House Museum and Soldiers Memorial.

Washington Avenue Tour: First & Third Saturdays of the month. Meeting site: Outside Tigin Irish Pub at the Hampton Inn, 333 Washington Avenue at 4th Street. Tour goers will view historic buildings including 555 Washington Avenue, National Blues Museum, International Shoe Company, City Museum and the birthplace of St. Louis and Washington University campuses.
