St. Louis native Ryan McAdams will be making his Opera Theatre debut conducting this wonderful story of adventure starring Matthew Plenk as Frederic and Deanna Breiwick, who plays Mabel, his true love.

IL TABARRO & PAGLIACCI – Giacomo Puccini 1918 & Ruggero Leoncavallo 1892

This is the story of love, passion, betrayal, and murder – two truly powerful Italian operas. Starring Kelly Kaduce, just one corner of the love triangle, and conducted by Ward Stare, former resident conductor at the St. Louis Symphony.

THE KISS – Bedrich Smetana 1876

Already named “the runaway success of the 210 festival” (Financial Times, London), THE KISS is a sly romantic masterpiece about saving all your kisses until your wedding day. Do you think Lukas and Vendulka can make it? Starring Corinne Winters & Garrett Sorenson.

CHAMPION - Terence Blanchard & Michael Cristofer 2013

This is the World Premiere of Champion, named “opera in jazz.” Based on a the true story of Emile Griffith, we see Emile becoming a three-time World Welterweight Champion but he has to pay the price for fame after a fatal championship fight in 1962. Music is composed by five-time Grammy Award-winning composer Terence Blanchard and libretto by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Michael Cristofer.
